Welcome to EPAT

The Environmental Paper Assessment Tool - or EPAT - is an innovative assessment tool that allows buyers and sellers of paper products to evaluate environmental performance data along the paper supply chain. By providing a consistent framework and metrics, EPAT creates the opportunity for informed discussion about the environmental attributes and trade-offs involved in paper purchasing decisions.

EPAT was developed by the sustainability nonprofit GreenBlue in collaboration with leading paper buyers and suppliers including the Paper Working Group – a collaboration of Metafore and 11 leading companies – with the goal of making environmentally preferable paper products more widely available and affordable. EPAT is based on the Paper Working Group’s seven desired outcomes for environmentally preferable paper.

GreenBlue named one of "10 Green NGOs Businesses Should Know About"...

Who are the NGOs that companies turn to most often -- and most effectively? To answer that question, we spoke with companies with long experience working with nonprofits, scanned our coverage over the last 10 years, and compared notes. Several NGOs stood out for their efforts to show the business community how they could operate leaner, greener, more profitably and more transparently.
